Amid an increasing number of Coronavirus cases in Europe and the world, Italians are being highly discouraged from undertaking any non-essential trip to fellow EU member states and beyond. In a notice published on Monday, the Italian the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation advises all Italians to refrain from undertaking any trips that are not absolutely necessary. “Given the worsening of the epidemiological situation in Europe, the Ministry recommends all compatriots to avoid travel abroad unless for strictly necessary reasons,” the notice reads. Currently, Italy has in place a state of emergency covering its whole national territory, until January 31, next year, extendable if necessary. The latter must also communicate their entry into the Italian territory to the Prevention Department of the competent Health Authority.
